Nagaland Athletics Association Celebrates 5th National Javelin Day 2026

The Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) celebrated the 5th National Javelin Day 2026 on 7 August 2026 at Pilgrim Higher Secondary School Ground, Kuda – B, Dimapur, commemorating the historic Olympic gold medal victory of Neeraj Chopra in the javelin throw at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from 53 athletes across various categories, comprising 36 boys and 17 girls, highlighting the growing interest in javelin throw and athletics in Nagaland.

The event provided young athletes an opportunity to showcase their talent and gain valuable competitive experience while inspiring them to pursue excellence in athletics.

The winners of the competition were:

Under-14 Girls
• 1st: Lihike M. Yepthomi
• 2nd: Keleneinuo Kire

• 1st: Lungousang Hengna
• 2nd: Isuka Awomi
• 3rd: Ngaminhao Doungel

• 1st: Ilika Achumi
